Visitor Parking

St. Thomas provides pay-by-the hour parking options for campus visitors and guests on both the St. Paul and Minneapolis Campuses. (Note there is no free parking on campus; all cars require a permit, daily parking pass, or a voucher.)

    St. Paul visitor parking is available all day in the Anderson Parking Facility and Frey Residence Hall Parking Garage.

    During evenings after 4 p.m. and on weekends, visitor parking is available in the McNeely Parking Garage, the Anderson Student Center Garage, and the Schoenecker Hall North (formerly Tommie North) Parking Garage.

    Visitor parking on the St. Paul campus for the Anderson Parking Facility, McNeely Hall, Anderson Student Center, Frey Hall, and Schoenecker Hall North is pre-paid. After you park your vehicle, make note of your license plate number, then proceed to the pay station.

    Visitor parking in the St. Paul campus Morrison Ramp R2 level is pay at exit. Take a ticket at the entrance and either pay by credit card at the exit gate or by mobile pay upon leaving.

    The cost of visitor parking is $2.10/hour before 4 p.m. and $1.55/hour after 4 p.m. and on weekends.

    A daily option is available through the for $13. The daily option cannot be purchased at pay stations, only through the Parking Portal. The daily option is only valid in the Anderson Parking Facility (APF) and is not valid for overnight parking.

    Minneapolis visitor parking is available in the 11th and Harmon Parking Ramp. Take a ticket when you enter the ramp. You may pay for parking at a pay station or at the exit.

    Parking vouchers are available to those visiting campus as guests of the admissions office. Vouchers are obtained through the admissions office and are valid in the .

    Parking Policies

    All visitors are subject to the same parking rules as faculty/staff and students. Parking is not permitted in fire lanes, handicapped, restricted, or reserved spaces without proper permits or authorization.

    Vehicle Assistance

    St. Thomas Public Safety staff can assist visitors if you're locked out of your car, need a jump start for your battery, or want someone to walk you across campus for added safety.

    Parking Tickets & Citations

    Visitors parked on campus without a permit or without payment will be subject to ticketing.

    Disability Parking

    Visitor handicap parking is available in pay-by-the hour visitor parking areas. Free visitor handicap parking is available in Lot B or Lot O with a two-hour time limit.

    Visitor Parking Vouchers

    Occasionally, a department may pay for your parking. Exactly how that voucher works depends on the campus you are visiting.

    Parking Vouchers for the St. Paul Campus

    You will be provided with a parking coupon code (a series of letters, words or numbers) prior to your arrival on campus. Park in the location as directed by your campus host. After you have parked, make note of your license plate number and proceed to the pay station. At the pay station, enter your license plate number and enter the length of time you plan to park. When asked if you have a coupon, press 1 for "yes" and enter the coupon code provided. If you plan to stay longer than the amount of time allotted by your coupon code, you will need to pay the balance by credit card.

    Parking Vouchers for the Minneapolis Campus

    Take a ticket upon entering the 11th and Harmon Parking Ramp. When you exit the ramp, first insert your ticket, then use the voucher provided by your campus host to pay for your parking.

    NOTE: St. Thomas departments and organizations can purchase vouchers or coupon codes for their guests through a Request for Service (RFS) or at the Minneapolis (TMH 106) or the St. Paul (ASC 253) Parking and Transportation Services Office. At the Request for Service page, select Public Safety and Parking Services, Visitor Parking Reservations, then choose the St. Paul or Minneapolis campus.
