Frey Residence Hall
Built in 2020, Frey Hall was designed around the concept of shared spaces - grouping students into clusters and pods to facilitate connection and »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ. With plenty of windows and a fireplace in the main lounge, there's a feeling of warmth through the building. In addition to a game room on the main floor, each pod has study spaces, social lounges, and a shared kitchen with lockable storage cabinets for residents' food, utensils, and supplies.
Frey Hall received the LEED Platinum certification, the seventh building in the world to achieve this rating. Sustainable features of the building include: energy efficiency above industry standards, carpet made from recycled content, and over 8,000 square feet of vegetated roof area.

Configuration |
There are two pods per floor and each pod has multiple clusters of double rooms and bathrooms. A cluster consists of 2-4 double bedrooms that share 1-2 bathrooms plus a small storage closet; each cluster feeds into a large shared space of the pod. This shared space has a lounge/living room area with soft seating, tables and chairs, and kitchen area for use by all residents of the pod. The building is co-ed and single gender by suite. A microwave/refrigerator combo unit is provided in each room. |

Numerous common areas include: game room, print station, and »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ lounge. Shared living rooms with kitchens and food lockers are in each pod, and study rooms are located on each floor. Laundry is also located on each floor. |
Room Size |
Rooms are 11 feet, 5 inches side-to-side, and 15 feet, 9 inches from door-to-window. Each closet (one per student) is 4 feet wide by 3 feet deep. |

Provided in each room, one for each student: Lofted extra-long twin bed and mattress, table desk, pedestal with lockable cabinet to be used with desk, desk chair, and closet with rods and shelves. (NOTE: there is no dresser due to the closet configuration.) Bedrooms are carpeted; bathrooms have a tile floor. |
